How well does Parrot perform?

Well, we don't know yet.

Benchmarks of runtime generated code show that we're competitive.

We don't know compile speed yet, however.

We need more complete language implementations to really test.

And, Parrot is largely unoptimized at the moment -- so there's lots of room for improvement.
