Alternately, the sample-local.php information could be placed into
the README.local file.  But I also agree that it would make sense
it's probably okay to add sample-local.php to the local directory
and leave it at that.

Most other examples that might go there probably belong in the
Cookbook -- that's what it's for.  In general I'd prefer that 
the PmWiki basic distribution be "whole" in the sense that 
for any given (non-beta) release, all of the pieces that come
with the release work properly together "as is".  But if there are
lots of example scripts in the basic distribution, then someone 
(usually me) has to go through and update them all before a release 
can be made, and that's time consuming and just delays the releases.  
I'd rather keep the examples separate, in the Cookbook, so that 
the core releases can continue to progress and the job of updating 
the examples can be distributed among the contributors and users.
