That makes sense... it's the same reason I wanted the SearchWiki page in
the LyX group to begin with. But I'm starting to think it would be better
if you stayed in your current group when you did a search. Especially
since I always use the search form at the top of the page these days.

What is the reason we actually need a specific SearchWiki page?

If it's a question of easily modifying the help text, that could be
located on a page called SearchHelp (which is included where it's needed).
