I agree with ? superscript. ? to be consistent with most other 
wikis and superscript to move it out of the normal position.
I added an option that removes the page name from the link text 
and gives it a faint dotted bottom border, with a bold sup ?

I think pmwiki ought to:
- follow the wiki convention by using a ?
- differentiate the link text from normal text
- be relaxed about how to display the link text

Link text treatment will probably vary from site to site, 
depending on how existing pages and other links get displayed.
