The banning of specific links works as a reactionary measure (you could also 
expand the idea into a simple content filter, if you liked). I have also seen 
the idea of having anything in a non-approved list of sites having to be run 
by an admin-type before that particular link is 'accepted' (I've been reading 
about this over the past few days, it's a subject I find quite interesting. 
I'm one of those people who collects email spam to play with filters, and see 
where it came from, and so on:) 

A website devoted to fighting wiki-spam is at http://chongqed.org/ where they 
try to out-keyword the spammers.
