I agree!!!
I'm reeling ...

I think Steve may be right ... perhaps better to stick much more closely to the
OS/Filesystem approach.

which sounds to me like a more simplified approach along the lines of
what Steven is supporting (his approach being really a 'pure Unix
hierarchy' one :).
