I don't know if it's in the documentation, but it's a leftover
markup from PmWiki 1 that we'd really like to deprecate at some point.  
Basically it inserts a break in the middle of a line; specifically
a <br clear='all' />.  Unfortunately that probably also means it
doesn't work for captioning as I'd like (because of the clear='all')
so we probably need something else to indicate line break here.

(I don't think \\ is good for an inline-break because \\ does appear
as normal text in some programming contexts.)
