I do not understand what you call a "feature", and what you would
have liked changed in the docu.

Attach:myphoto.jpg displays as an image, whreas
[[Attach:myphoto.jpg]] displays as a link to the image file.

I don't see a need here to use absolute paths.

Perhaps the bracketed option should be mentioned explicitely in the
Pmwiki/Uploads page.
