Downloading the new version and its style sheet adds a

    (:wikilognav:)

directive. This is suitable for putting into a SideBar and lets
you jump to any month in a (by default) 15 month window around
the current month. It also gives links to the first and last
days' entries (if any) of each month in the list. For example

    January 2005
    15 ... 23 February 2005
    07 March 2005

and so on. In this example, January has no entries,
February has 3 or more, the first on 15 and last on 23.
March has 1 entry.

Finally, it adds a background colour to any references to
the current month (in top navigation and sidebar navigation).

The tool tip enhancement is still under thought, as it has
to integrate and not conflict with other tool tip options, 
like Page#anchor tips.
