Note that what DokuWiki is doing here is showing the differences
in the *markup text*, and not the differences in the results
of the markup.

We can change PmWiki to do a similar thing -- i.e., show the markup
text by default instead of the results of the markup (along with
word-level differences), but I'd need to hear a lot more votes in
favor of this change.

Also, if anyone wants to try to build some prototypes, it's very easy 
to create specialized page history views as recipes -- just change 
$HandleAction['diff'] to point to a specialized function (or use 
some other ?action= value).
