[pmwiki-users] Acceptable Protocols for Links

I just tried to make a telnet link in the form of: [[telnet:// 
bbs.isca.uiowa.edu | ISCA BBS]], but the result is blank. Nothing  
even shows up in the source. As an experiment, I tried https://,  
ftp://, and gopher:// all of which work.

I have two questions. Is it possible to get the telnet:// link  
working without writing custom markup (I'm not opposed to the idea,  
just curious), and what all protocols can make links?
