However, it does allow them.  For our wiki at work, I'm using AuthUser
with .htpasswd and FASTmembership, and several naieve users added
themselves as "Firstname Lastname" rather than giving themselves user
IDs without spaces in them.

Fortunately, since I'm not using the group functionality, it hasn't been
a problem for me -- but it might be in another wiki we'll probably be
adding later for customers.

Therefore, it might be a good idea to either
(a) allow usernames with spaces in groups or
(b) add an option which *prevents* usernames with spaces being allowed
    to be added.
