Perhaps, the '>>div<<' markup wasn't a good enough choice?

Considering that 'divs' are useful to allow some visual feedback of
the text semantic, shouldn't have we defined something more close to
the "basic" style syntax aka for example:

(%div%)
...
(%%)

no?
