That sounds promising. 

I'll volunteer to test the document as:
- CMS application -- one or two authors, many readers; 
  some areas for "friends" rather than "guests",
  maybe an area friends can write to
- novice user who does not know PHP; 
  comfortable with CSS and HTML (but not an expert)
- terrified of changing settings on the server
- minimal changes from the core distribution
- maybe convert to farm to add a multiple-author site, 
  once the first is working well (hmmm, can farms be easily added later, 
  or is that decision best made up front?)
- emphasis on getting it up, secure, usable and robust
