[pmwiki-users] authuser and htgroup files

I've been using PmWiki for a while, but I'm now trying to push it out
to more users, so I wanted to get the authuser stuff working ... but
preferably with htpasswd *and* htgroup files since this will better
integrate with other parts of our web system.

The Cookbook/AuthUser page suggests "The ability to manage groups is
added in 2.1.beta8" ... but it doesn't seem to handle htgroup files.
Is that still the case with 2.1.11?

I hacked up a htauthuser script, but I'm curious if I'm doing this
right, extra eyeballs would be greatly appreciated ... the script can
be downloaded at:

Am I right that at the end of the initialization process, the global
variable $AuthId should be set to a hash with entries:
"id:username"=1, "id:-username"=-1, and "@groupname"=1 for every
group the user is a part of ... is that it?
