I really appreciate the message that you post in my profile page. :-) I am
reading the pmwiki-users list now for a couple of days. This is a most
helpful community and a pleasant surprise. I already solved the wikifarm
issue at hand, in fact 

Right now I am working  on a farm recipe that works for both unencrypted
(http://) and SSL encrypted (shttp://) fields in the same farm. The setup is
based on what I learned from other recipes and will be, from a webserver
administrators point of view, very easy to use and maintain.

Thank again and I hope you will have no problem that I in a while will
delete your entry on my profile page.
