phew...

If I can use...

$action=='comment'

...to set a filter for what appears on the recent
changes list.  Would other/all recepies have similar
action signatures that I can look for to add to the
list of pages not included in the recent changes list?
 I'm thinking specifically of The Wiki Calendar
recepie.
