[pmwiki-users] Error message for wrong subdomain getting subverted

Thanks for the idea! I try it out when the holidays are over.

Quick note just before we head out.

Husband looked into it further. Turns it's worse than I thought. As he 
wrote elsewhere:

This goes beyond web traffic. If you use ping, telnet, ftp, ssh or other 
internet applications and mis-type the host name, rogers will return a 
false result, instead of an invalid host message.

If I try to ping someserver.mydomain.com, Rogers DNS service returns the 
IP address of their search page, claiming that THEIR server is part of 
my domain.


This affects all domain owners, and any Rogers Canada customers. I 
suspect other ISPs will start to do the same thing. We'll add our voices 
to the formal complaints on both fronts.
