If what you want is to include links in a footnote, the Footnotes
recipe, unlike FootnotesExtended, does allow that.
This markup:
Text [^[[http://www.example.com|Article1]]^]
More text [^[[http://www.example.com|Article2]]^]
[^#^]
Produces this result (I don't know if it will appear correctly in your
email reader):
Text 1 More text 2
1 Article1 ⇑
2 Article2 ⇑
