I think that at present I'd prefer to simply declare that
having multiple PTV definitions in a page leads to undefined
results (i.e., unsupported), as opposed to picking a definition
we might regret later.

In particular, off and on I've considered the possibility
of having PTV arrays, where _all_ of a PTV's values are made
available.  I don't want to make a choice now that might
interfere with that possibility later.
