Hello;

For those trying out the Apache Handler - Rewrite system of serving PmWiki pages, here is an important note. It is necessary to add an Apache htaccess file caching line to the htaccess file in the root directory of your PmWiki site. 

This is because the Php caching utility and the Apache Handler - Rewrite utilities drift ever further apart, as time goes on. Please see PageLoadingSpeed page  below for full details.

Also, the unusual extensions (.php3 .phtml) in the AddType line may possibly result in more, or multiple, page requests. Multiple page requests are essential in speeding page-loading times, and one page request per user call is going to result in a very slow site. Remove them cautiously, or with the intent to replace them if page-loading slows.
