I just went through a list of things, and noticed the
notify=email.address@domain format=xxxx<br>

Then I realised in the email list I have:<br>

format=#body </small></font><br>
</small></blockquote>
<small><font face="Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif">and of course the
[[#subject]] is now ignored during the template processing and the
email body is shown correctly.<br>
