thanks for the reply. it was indeed picking up the invalid . before .c:/php/extensions from php.ini!<BR>

i amended the php.ini file and the pictures loaded! <BR>
<BR>
one thing i noticed, the 'latest' version of the mini cookbook did not produces the lightbox effect, when i used the mini <BR>
cookbook on pmwiki the lightbox worked fine!<BR>
