[pmwiki-devel] How feasible are page edit locks in PmWiki?

Is it possible to to grant locks on pages being edited? For example, a lock would last for five minutes or until the page is saved, whichever comes first.

Or is Pmwiki's current simultaneous editing feature too intrinsic to PmWiki to allow a lock mechanism?

I ask because a lock mechanism might allow some interesting applications that use structured markup and take information on a section level.

Foxedit, which allows section editing, says it doesn't handle simultaneous edits. (Hans tried hard, but it's a difficult problem.) The SectionEdit recipe simply throws the user into a whole page edit when a conflict occurs. Such behaviors do not lend themselves to structured applications. But if a lock mechanism were available, such problems would go away.
