Another idea that I've come across is called "soft links". Can't remember
where it was though (maybe everything.com?), but the idea was the system
remembered how users moved around. So if it's common that a user first
goes to page 'A' and then to page 'B', page 'A' could have a list of "soft
links" at the bottom where a link to 'B' would be listed.

This could also be used backwards, i.e. the system could remember from 
what pages the users usually come from, so in this case there would be a 
list at the bottom of page 'B' that points to page 'A'.
