[Pmwiki-users] error -- "Cannot acquire lockfile"

A couple of days ago I implemented an "edit" password on my public
wiki in order to prevent spam, and it worked well for about two days.

Now I'm getting the following message (which you can see at
http://www.thenewpr.com/wiki/pmwiki.php):

I read that "when PmWiki is unable to acquire the lock file, it
usually means that something or someone on the host server has changed
the ownerships or permissions on the wiki.d directory such that PmWiki
can no longer write to the files in that directory. This usually
requires the assistance of the server administrator to fix"

-- but I don't know *what* should I request to the server administrator.

Also, has this anything to do with enforcing an "edit" password?
