Actually.... I personally would like the plan to be thinking of that background image markup as also applying to the entire editable portion of a page, not only a cell or table of cells. Maybe with options for tileing or repeating?

I know this can be done in templates and with css... but if you want to treat a few different pages with different background like in the story segmentsI am doing it would be fantastic to be able to drop a markup into a page and get an editable section background. Not the entire page!

Thanks for considering this

  Um. That was the first thing I tried, but pmwiki renders that as

  <TABLE url(marble.gif)??>
  <TBODY>
  <TR>
  <TD>one</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

  I try to do homework before I suggest a solution. Maybe my 2beta28 is broken?

  Tried that but no matter what I do, I get only:

  <TABLE
  style="BORDER-BOTTOM: 0px; BORDER-LEFT: 0px; BORDER-RIGHT: 0px; BORDER-TOP:
  0px"
  alt="" src="http://www.pmichaud.com/grape/in-grape2.gif" url(<img>')'&gt;
  <TBODY>
  <TR>
  <TD align=middle>cell 1 </TD>
  <TD align=middle>cell 2 </TD>
  <TD align=middle>cell 3 </TD></TR>

  Are you currently working on that markup?

  Cheers,
