(:markup:)...(:markupend:) is indeed broken at pmwiki.org
at the moment, I'm waiting for things to settle down a bit
from having changed the image floating markups (required
a conversion to tables) and the meaning of [@...@].

I'm hoping to have it fixed tonight.
