No, you should only end lines with \\ when you explicitly need a
line break.  Otherwise, lines will tend to wrap as expected.

Be careful about lines that start with spaces, they are treated
as preformatted text and so they do not wrap.

Can you give us an example page that illustrates the confusion
you're seeing, perhaps on pmwiki.org somewhere?
