Is the best way to go for a public page. Would be nice if there was
something more readable however.  Since I would be leaving the
comments for newbies and they might be confused by this syntax.

Because my page is a private page, not meant to be read by Google, I
think I'll be OK with the

this text is comment
>><<

format for now.
