Just as a suggestion, can't you do something like the following in
your config file?  I don't know the exact code for extract group()

$LinkGroup = extractgroup($LinkText);
if ($LinkGroup == Group1,Group2,Group3) $LinkPageCreateFmt = $LinkPageExistsFmt;
