True, but if he wrote it directly into the wiki, he wouldn't have to.
Perhaps that's what he means?

No, but there does exist a HTML -> PmWiki converter: the perl module
HTML::WikiConverter (which can convert HTML pages into several dialects
of wiki markup, including PmWiki).
