That's actually annoying sometimes, e.g when trying to make a page such as
 	LyX/LyX1.4.2
and you have to write something like
 	Lyx/LyX142
instead.

Is this likely to ever change? I wouldn't be surprised if the '.' is 
so entrenched now that it's very difficult to allow it in a page name.
