The difference would seem to be that [[FieldA-Wiki:Group.ABC]]
creates an external link to Group.ABC in FieldA-Wiki, and displays
as such even if Group.ABC doesn't exist.

I think that what John Rankin is doing causes [[FieldA-Wiki:Group.ABC]]
to display as a "create page" link with ?action=edit appended if
Group.ABC doesn't exist in the target field.  A simple InterMap link
doesn't handle this case.
