All the above, although using flat files wasn't a deal breaker for me. 
(And still isn't since it's easy to grab the page array 
programmatically.)

authorization process was also important.

To me (and many others, I suspect), pmwiki isn't a wiki, but a web-site 
framework.

If I'd known about the quality of support earlier, I might never have 
looked at alternatives.
