[pmwiki-users] '_' gets lost in links, new pages

Hi all!

If I want to create a new page I insert a link on an existing page, like 
this:

"Further details are provided [[my_beautiful_new_page | on this page]]."

Unfortunately in the link the underscores get lost/ get stripped, so 
that my beautiful new page is actually called Main.mybeautifulnewpage.

This is at first site unfortunate/ undesirable. Is this unavoidable?
Is there a workaround?
