[pmwiki-users] Enforce Data Entry on Zap Forms -- Modal Dialogs in PMwiki?

Posting again in hopes of some light:
---------

I'm having a little problem with ZAP forms
-- not specific to ZAP as such any form could have the same issue

where we need to enforce data entry of all fields and option selections.

Some users are just filling in a TO DO form Description field and then
  submitting.
It gets submitted OK, but with some page variables are empty and
the pagelists that display the entries don't show them because the
conditionals are looking for data in fields that are empty.

How do you alert a the user that
he needs to fill in a field before he can finalize submit and then
  return him to the
form with the data he previous entered still intact in those fields that
he *did* fill in? I'm used to writing CGI's that do this, but don't know
the PMwiki way for data entry enforcement and verification.

I guess I might as well ask also for the data type verification snippet
as well--where user enters some data that does not meet some criteria...
and PMwiki needs to respond with an intelligent user prompt.

Does PhP have modal dialogs for PMWiki with an "OK" button to dismiss
and drop the user back to the page as it was? That would be ideal.
