[pmwiki-users] passwords not working

Hello
i've set up a new website and i've installed the latest pmwiki etc etc but the passwords are not working properly!

it is at www.bedamned.co.uk

i've set an admin password and a site-wide edit password in config - but these work, at best, only occasionally - and most of the time any member of the public can edit or do whatever they like!

the strange thing is - i have another site at www.davidcharles.info which is set up exactly the same, but is always perfect security wise -it asks for a password on edit before AND after you edit so absolutely fail-safe - i don't understand! they are even both with the same webhost, although with slightly different packages

sorry i'm not very technical but if someone could give any guidance i would be really grateful!
