Sorry if I ask, but: why do you want to install pmwiki iside your pc?
Struggling to have a working system at home, in case you are not a
computer expert, seems clueless.

If the point is having a quick notebook for yourself, which you cam
load into an usb key or mail to friends, then
http://www.tiddlywiki.com/ is the answer: just download that .html
page and enjoy! It has more power than you might guess.

If your scope is, instead, building a public (or private, or both)
website, and have it available for you and your friends, then I
suggest you go here http://hosting.aruba.it/offerte/LISTINO.asp
For slightly more than 20 euro a year you get a working linux
environment which is good enough for any of your need. I've been using
it since many years, flawlessy.
