Now that page uses Cookbook:Ape and the open source OpenStreetMap.org.

We previously used 2 modules relying on Google Maps, but Google stopped 
supporting the old program interface so the recipes GMap and 
GoogleMapsAPI no longer work.

The OpenStreetMap.org server is free/open source software and embedding 
maps via the Leaflet library is touchscreen-friendly and very 
lightweight. It is a very good option if you need to embed maps (as long 
as you don't need directions or aerial/satellite views).
