[Pmwiki-users] Sync of local pmwiki with remote pmwiki possible?

Hi folks,

I had a bit of a hiccup with my replies to list messages not appearing here
on the list - so I'm posting them again, just in case someone finds them of
interest.
Apologies again to those who received list messages privately ...

Yes, me too! It is a brilliant tool - but, as you say, between two Unix
 servers.

yea ... but, honestly, I'd hate having to get it working with cygwin <g>.
I still have nightmares from when I tried to get XFree86 to work properly
 under cygwin ... LOL.

 I've just downloaded cwRsync
 http://www.itefix.no/cwrsync/
and am fiddling around with that. Can't quite get it to work correctly
 yet.

wget has the advantage of being simpler (i.e. less chance of a
stuff-up) and that there is a well-established Windows version available.
It is of course not a true syncing tool, but at least you could update your
local copy without fuss that way. Then you'd have to upload edited files
... which all leaves open the problematic scenario that someone else has
edited wiki files on the server in that time span between you downloading
and then re-uploading your stuff! aargh <g>.
We're really getting into quite complicated two-way versioning control here
 ...
