Get a decent mail program that has a reply-to-author option, or lets you reply 
to the list, and set what you want a general 'reply' to do, and then the 
whole point is moot :)

Personally I like reply-to-list the default for discussion lists, as it keeps 
the discussion going, but I override the behaviour of lists that don't behave 
like I want them too anyway. And for lists with a lot of people who may be 
new to mailing lists, I think reply-to munging provides the most intuative 
result ("the mail comes from the list, the mail goes to the list").
